When you log in, if 2FA is enabled, you are required to generate a code in your authenticator app in addition to your password.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"has-background\" style=\"background-color:#e9f1fb\"><strong>Important:<\/strong> Store your backup codes somewhere safe, as they are the only way to recover your account in case your 2FA device (e.g., your phone) is lost. The best practice is to print them out or store them on a USB drive, rather than the device you use to access Kialo.<\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h_ac1bed8a-04fe-41c4-9af8-72293afc1f91\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">How to Enable\/Disable Two-Factor Authentication<\/span><\/h2><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To <strong>enable<\/strong> 2FA:<\/span><\/p><ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Navigate to your <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kialo.com\/usersettings\" referrerpolicy=\"unsafe-url\">User Settings page<\/a>.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Scroll down to the &lsquo;Two-Factor Authentication&rsquo; section and click &lsquo;Enable Two-Factor Authentication&rsquo;.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A pop-up appears. Enter your current password and click &lsquo;Continue&rsquo;.&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A QR code appears. Scan this code in your 2FA app.&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Underneath the QR code, enter the verification code which appears in your app and click &lsquo;Continue&rsquo;.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Your backup codes appear. Save these somewhere safe.&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Once you have saved your backup codes, click &lsquo;Finish&rsquo;.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2FA is now enabled for your account. The next time you log in, you are required to enter the code generated in your app after entering your password.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To <strong>disable<\/strong> 2FA:<\/span><\/p><ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Navigate to your <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kialo.com\/usersettings\" referrerpolicy=\"unsafe-url\">User Settings page<\/a>.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Scroll down to the &lsquo;Two-Factor Authentication&rsquo; section and click &lsquo;Disable Two-Factor Authentication&rsquo;.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A pop-up appears. Enter your current password and click &lsquo;Continue&rsquo;.&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A confirmation message asks if you are certain you wish to disable 2FA. If you are, click &lsquo;Disable&rsquo;.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h_7a127e41-7271-4238-9de0-209aed55a669\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I&rsquo;ve Lost My Authentication Device<\/span><\/h2><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you&rsquo;ve lost the device you use to generate your 2FA code, you can use a backup code to log in instead.<\/span><\/p><ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Attempt to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kialo.com\/login\" referrerpolicy=\"unsafe-url\">log in<\/a> using your username\/email and password.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When prompted for your 2FA code, click &lsquo;Authenticator Lost&rsquo;.&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A prompt requests your backup code. Enter one of your backup codes here (each backup code is 12 characters long) and click &lsquo;Submit&rsquo;.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Note that using a backup code <strong>does <\/strong><\/span><strong>not<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> disable 2FA on your account &ndash; if you have permanently lost access to your authentication device, follow the steps in the section above to disable 2FA.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kialo supports Two-Factor Authentication (2FA), providing an extra layer of security for your account.
