To open the Notification and Activity Lists in a discussion, click on the bell-shaped notifications icon in the top-right-hand corner.
There are three notification lists: the ‘Discussion Changes List’, 'Discussion Activity List' and finally the ‘Global Notifications List’.
Content this article covers:
- About the Discussion Changes List
- About the Discussion Activity List
- About the Global Notifications List
'Changes' will show you all changes and comments in your current discussion that you haven’t yet seen or marked as read (see: Marking a Branch Seen).
The ‘Suggestions’ notifications section will appear if there are any pending suggestions or unseen changes to suggestions.
The ‘Important’ notifications section contains notifications that involve you being mentioned, changes to your claims or new pros/cons to your claims.
The ‘Other’ notifications section contains all other updates to the discussion which you have not yet seen.
The ‘Activity’ list will show you all changes and comments made in your current discussion in chronological order.
If you wish to only see changes and comments made by a particular user in your current discussion, you can filter the Discussion Activity List by clicking ‘Filter:’ and selecting the relevant user. To remove the filter, simply click 'Filter:' again, this time selecting 'No filter (show activity of all participants)'.
If you wish to only see claim-related activity (claims which have added or deleted) in the Discussion Activity List, click the ‘Show activity’ box to open the activity menu and select ‘Show claims’. This can be used in conjunction with the Filter to see claim activity from a specific user. To revert to viewing all discussion activity, simply open the menu again by clicking ‘Show claims’ and select ‘Show activity’.
Finally, 'Global' notifications will show you all notifications involving you being mentioned in any discussion, one of your claims in any discussion being marked for review, suggestions or participation requests in any discussion for which you are an Admin, and changes to your role in, or invites to, a discussion.
You can click through to the relevant discussions from the Global notifications panel, or click the ‘Mark all as read’ button if you don’t want to follow up on those that remain unread.
If you’re following a discussion (see: Following or Unfollowing a Discussion), you’ll also receive optional email alerts with key notifications for that discussion. To set the frequency of email updates, see Notification Settings.
