To create a new discussion, click the ‘Create Discussion’ button in the top-right-hand corner of the My Kialo or Explore page. You will first be asked to choose whether your discussion will be public or private (see: Published vs Private Discussions). If you choose private, you’ll be able to publish your discussion at any point in the future, but do remember that once published, a discussion can’t be unpublished.
Click on the ‘Next’ button, and you will be taken to the next screen, where you will be asked whether you would like to create a single- or a multi-thesis discussion (see: Multi- vs Single-Thesis Discussions).
You will be asked to provide a title for your discussion, which will also act as the starting thesis if you are creating a single-thesis discussion (see: Multi- vs Single-Thesis Discussions). Both can be changed later. You will also be able to set the language of your discussion, fill out the background info box (see: Adding Background Info), and add tags and a cover image (see: Adding Tags and Images) - note that you can come back and do this later if you’re creating a private discussion. Finally, click the ‘Create’ button to create your new discussion.
