About Discussion Images

  • When you create a discussion, you’ll be given the option to upload a cover image for your discussion. 
  • The cover image appears on the Explore page, in searches, and the discussion info which opens automatically when users first open the discussion.
  • The cover image can be changed, added, or removed at any time after the discussion is created.
  • Uploaded discussion images must be in a .PNG or .JPEG format and no larger than 16MB.
  • If a discussion has no image, a random color pattern will be generated as a placeholder.
  • You can include additional information related to the image, such as attribution for a Creative Commons license, in the Discussion Info.

Changing a Discussion Image

Note: To change the cover image for a discussion, you must have Admin permissions or higher.

To modify the cover image for a discussion: 

  1. Open the Discussion Menu and select ‘Discussion Settings’. 
  2. Navigate to the ‘Discussion Image’ section.
  3. Click either ‘Replace’ or ‘Remove’. If you select ‘Replace’, pick a new image to upload.

Warning: Ensure that you have a legal right to use the image you upload and the image complies with Kialo Community Guidelines.

About Discussion Tags

  • To make your discussions easier to find and search for on Kialo, you can add tags to your discussion.
  • You can view the most common tags used on Kialo on the Explore Tags page.
  • You can also search for discussions with specific tags on the Search page. Searching for a tag will show all discussions on Kialo which the tag has been attached to.

Changing Discussion Tags

Note: To change the tags for a discussion, you must have Admin permissions or higher.

To modify the discussion tags:

  1. Open the Discussion Menu and select ‘Discussion Settings’. 
  2. Navigate to the ‘Discussion Tags’ section. 
  3. Add or remove the tags you would like to append to your discussion. Tags should be separated by spaces. Any tags you’ve used previously will be suggested as you type.
