About Discussion Access Links
Discussion Access Links allow you to generate a link which will allow any users to view your private discussion, regardless of whether they are signed in to Kialo or have been invited to the discussion. This can be useful for sharing discussions that you do not want to be public, with friends or communities.
Users accessing the discussion through a Discussion Access Link will effectively have the Viewer role, although they will need to be signed in if they wish to suggest claims or comments in the discussion.
How to Enable or Disable Discussion Access Links
Discussion Access Links are disabled by default. To enable Discussion Access Links, open the Discussion Menu and select ‘Discussion Settings’. Select the ‘Invites & Permissions’ tab. In the visibility section, navigate to ‘Discussion Access Link’ and click ‘Enable’. This will generate a link that can then be shared.
To disable Discussion Access Links, follow the same steps as above, this time clicking ‘Disable’. If Discussion Access Links are disabled, users following the link will not be able to access the discussion unless they have been invited. You can re-enable the link at any time to allow users following the link access again.
Note that if a discussion which has Discussion Access Links enabled is cloned, the new cloned discussion will have Discussion Access Links disabled by default.
