Kialo’s thanks feature allows you to express gratitude to another user - for creating a discussion, creating a claim, making an edit: anything that creates an entry in the Comments & History section of a claim or thesis.
To thank someone, go to the Comments & History log of a claim or thesis (click on the three dots that appear at the top-right-hand of a claim or thesis when you hover over it, or right-click the claim or thesis, to open the claim menu. Select ‘Comments & History’) and click on the heart-shaped thanks icon under the entry you want to thank.
As a shortcut to thank someone for creating a discussion or claim, you can thank them through the thesis or claim menu. Click on the three dots that appear at the top-right-hand of a thesis or claim when you hover over it, or right-click on the thesis, to open the thesis menu. Select ‘Thank Author’.
Each entry in the Comments & History log has a thanks counter under it indicating how many thanks have been received for that action. Every user can find their global thanks count - of all thanks across the site - at the top-right-hand corner of the My Kialo page (see: My Kialo and Explore Pages).
You can thank each action only once. Un-thanking is not currently possible. Once you click the thanks icon, the heart will be filled in and its count will increase by one. Note that thanks on comments remain visible even if the comment is deleted.
